Faculty of Biotechnology

Faculty of Biotechnology trains student in interdisciplinary areas like Genetics, Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, Biological Chemistry and so on. The primary focus is to nurture the young minds with activities of research and projects. Workshops, field trips and conferences are conducted to enhance the ample knowledge and prepare student for career by enhancing their skills through various internships, paper presentations and certificate courses.

Biotechnology is offered as an elemental subject of B.Sc program- BtMC(Biotechnology, Microbiology & Chemistry) and introduced new program of B.Sc -BtBC(Biotechnology, Botany & Chemistry) in the year 2022. Since its inception 07 batches have graduated. Many of the students have opted for the higher education in reputed Foreign Universities. It has enhanced teaching and learning techniques with best infrastructure and qualified faculty.

Objectives

• To ensure students exposure to research and development at different levels and forums like genetic engineering, gene therapy, plant biotechnology etc.,
• To inculcate a strong foundation for comprehending rapid advance learning to build technical and critical thinking in the areas of research.
• To foster personal initiative and responsibility towards scientific knowledge- based environment by participating in national and international level conferences.
• To develop and achieve the significant analyze-review ability of literature related to curriculum among students.
