Faculty of Statistics
The faculty of Statistics is existing from the inception of the college in 2008 with 25 students to equip them with essential skills in Probability and statistical methodologies across various fields. The faculty offers post-graduation in statistics from 2021 with 21 students. Now the faculty provides comprehensive training in statistics, emphasizing both theory and practical applications to 115 UG and 15 PG students. Through specialized courses, students gain proficiency in statistical software and analytical tools for real- world data analysis. It fosters critical thinking through research opportunities, including undergraduate projects contributing to statistical knowledge and provides service courses to students from other disciplines, promoting statistical literacy, Professional development initiatives by organizing seminars, workshops offering networking opportunities, career insights in academia, industry, and government sectors.
Objectives
- To Provide quality education in statistical theory and methods to equip students with analytical skills.
- To Conduct original research in advance statistical methodologies which contribute the knowledge in the field of research.
- To Collaborate with other disciplines to address complex problems required in statistical expertise.
- To Provide undergraduate research opportunities to foster critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and hands-on experience in statistical analysis.
- To Emphasize the practical application of statistical methods through case studies, projects, and real-world examples to prepare students for professional settings.
