Department of Physical Sciences

The Department of Physical Science commenced from the inception of the college in 2008 with an undergraduate program BSc(MSCs) and introduced with BSc(MPCs) in 2009 and BSc(MECs) in 2010 with an intake of 40 students in each program . BSc(MPC) is introduced in the year 2016 and the PG course, MSc(Statistics) in the year 2021.

The Department has 15 Teaching staff and 3 non teaching staff. 7 teaching staff are pursuing PhD in their respective subjects. It creates a stimulating environment for excellent academic growth of students.

The department aims to foster a dynamic learning environment and also cultivates practical skills and professional competencies among students by conducting national and international seminars, workshops, Quiz competitions, Intra & Inter collegiate competitions and other student activities.

Furthermore, the Department conducts Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) and Professional Development Programs (PDPs) to enhance the skills and knowledge of faculty members. These initiatives aim to improve teaching methodologies, keep faculty updated on industry trends and fosters a culture of continuous learning in the department.

Programmes Offered

Physical science course is to contribute and understand the physical world through qualitative, quantitative methodologies as well as excel in theoretical and experimental concepts. The degree programs are generally structured to provide flexibility for students wanting to focus on a specific field.
