The Student Cabinet at LFDC is a student-led council representing student interests, facilitating campus activities, and promoting engagement. Responsibilities include:

Adoption of Konampet Village

Community Service through Little Flower Extension (LIFE)

Objectives

The adoption of Konampet, Sangareddy Dist, initiated by LIFE (Little Flower Extension) with the objective of improving:

  • Education
  • Healthcare
  • Infrastructure
  • Livelihood enhancement
  • Overall wellbeing leading to improvement in quality of life

The Context

After surveying a few villages, the college decided to adopt Konampet Village to focus on the socioeconomic condition prevailing in the village and to better the overall living conditions of the residents.

The Practice

The adoption of a village plays a crucial role in improving students education in several ways:

  • Awareness of specific needs and challenges related to education
  • Understanding the importance of healthcare for an active and productive life
  • Identifying and improving hygiene conditions
  • Creating a sense of duty and awareness about rural challenges

Awareness was created in hygiene, school conditions, drinking water facility, and health issues faced by villagers.

Evidence of Success

  • Conducted a survey on the economical status of the residents of Konampet
  • Installation of a water purifier to improve drinking water facility
  • Free medical camp and eye testing for villagers and primary school students
  • Free distribution of vitamins, calcium tablets and syrups
  • Students mobilized to clean and beautify the village and school

Problems Encountered

Initial reluctance, resistance, and skepticism among villagers posed a significant challenge in gaining their trust. Limited involvement of village community members in the initial stages.

Funding for infrastructure projects, medical supplies for health camps, transportation for students, coordination with local authorities, and sustained community engagement efforts.

LFMS - Little Flower Management System

Objectives

  • Integration of Administrative, Academic and Operational Information into a centralized software system
  • To ensure consistency, accuracy and accessibility of information to the stakeholders
  • Facilitate monitoring and communication with the parents about the progress of the students
  • Minimize paperwork and improve efficiency in processing the data
  • Integrate academic processes across departments and provide transparency in all activities

The Context

Recognising the need for digital transformation, LFMS has adopted technological advancements to enhance teaching and learning experience, streamline administrative processes and improve overall efficiency.

The Practice

LFMS streamlines Admission, Attendance and Evaluation. It is an intranet and internet based application developed and maintained by a team of staff and students of LFDC.

LFMS Support:

  • Managing students admissions, processing applications and enrolment procedures
  • Integrated with online payment of tuition fee
  • Creating and managing academic calendars, scheduling classes
  • Keeping track of student's personal information, academic performance, financial aids
  • Periodic and class wise attendance monitored with absent messages to parents
  • Centralized marks entry and viewing
  • Events and activities linked directly to website
  • Reports are directly published
